Fundraising picnic by Ronald McDonald House Charity Foundation
Equipping Family rooms for the parents and children staying in hospitals for a long-term treatment is an international initiative commenced in 1974 by Ronald McDonald House Charity Foundation. Three of such rooms have already been opened in the State hospitals of Ukraine.
CISC is glad to be joining the new project of RMHC – Fundraising family picnic, aimed at raising money for equipping the family room in Sumy regional children’s hospital, where about 10 000 children from all over Ukraine are treated each year.
The guests participated in various activities organized by the CHILDREN. That’s right! The main feature of this event was that the young and caring generation worked on its creation – they made magnificent decorations, prepared interesting master-classes, developed the performance programme and tasty menu. We thank the volunteer CISC students for participating in organization of such event and becoming a part of a greater good cause!
«At the picnic I volunteered as an assistant for the «silent auction». It’s an art auction in which each guest of the event can participate: near the picture you like you can write the price higher than the starting price, and leave your name and phone number. My task was to give all necessary information about the pictures and to help with the placement of auction items. IT was extremely interesting since I could meet very interesting people – artists and illustrators, and could join such a good cause. I liked the concept of this event and the picnic for its warmth, easy atmosphere and the creativity of the stands represented there. I will definetely participate in such events in the future!» – our student Anna Bezpala shares her impressions.
*Each year Ronald McDonald House Charities help more than 7 million families all over the world. The RMHC Foundation creates Family rooms in hospitals, equipped with all things necessary for living, where the parents or relatives can stay with their children during the treatment. Starting from 2016, RMHC works in Ukraine, and within this time Family rooms were opened in Lviv, Vinnytsia and Kyiv.
