Wave of March: how the CISC students welcomed the Spring
March theme waves were defended in Kyiv and Lviv. The immersion themes were very spring-like: . Kyiv immersed into the exploration of our planet’s agricultural capacities, and Lviv – into the waking of the Nature.
Kyiv. «Agrosmart» wave immersion
We are glad that within the Agrosmart immersion the children concerned themselves with the matter of sustaining our planet,creation of smart-citіes, sustainable farming, smart building and construction.
That’s how our wave immersion into one of the most urgent present-day topics turned out :
We grew eco-friendly food using drip watering and compost from spent coffee grounds.
At creative workshop we developed the projects of future cities – created the models of smart-city, green recreation spaces, developed the strategies and searched for the ways of their realization.
We paid a greqat deal of attention to smart building. We learned about the new type of bacteria that can help fill in and “glue” the voids or cracks in the coincrete or asphalt. And in order to implement the knowledge we tried ourselves as builders. And we also had an excursion around a residential complex.
We shot a video to reveal the problem of healthy nutrition, and we learned about what kind of food we have to consume to stay healthy. We tried ourselves as decorators, film directors, operators, TV show hosts and producers. We presented our video masterpiece to our friends from other classes.
We studied two of the profession important for eco-friendly future: city farmer and agroponics developer.
We grew grain crops, vegetables and greenery.
We learned how to work with wax – made and decorated the candles.
We explored the functioning of farms and even created our own. We studied our competitors and made a business plan. We made the lists of the equipment necessary for the fram’s functioning, employees; means of transportation and vehicles; made a concept for realization of the project. And now, we are ready to bring it into life!
We went on excursions to botanical garden, different farms and the zoo.
Lviv
Junior school. “The Rebirth” wave immersion
A small seeds waiting through the winter for the warmth to come, they catch the first rays of spring sun and are about to sprout up and become a dill, or spincah, or even a flower.
The students from classes 3.2 and 4.2 within this wave immersion made a small plantation and now are waiting for the first sprouts.
Щоб зернятко проросло, трава зазеленіла, а око милувалося красою природи – учні 4.1 класу прибрали від сміття парк для прогулянок.
Скульптура чарівної рожевої свинки та фламінго, які тішать нас у холі школи – проект 3.1 класу – переродження пластику, який тепер милує око.
А щоб затишок та відчуття комфорту не залишало нас ніколи, килимки зі старого, порваного одягу – саме те, що треба! Надаємо друге життя і тішимося результатом з першими класами.
Старша школа. Хвильове занурення «STEM»
Розпочали хвилю березня флешмобом з виготовлення кубика без ножиць та клею 🙂
Маленький кубик, складений кожним учнем, став цеглинкою до композиції від класу. П’яті класи випробували свої сили на знання теорії (натуральні числа, дроби), логіку та командну роботу на математичному брейн-ринзі «В гостях у Тесли».
Творчо обіграли математику у мистецтві шості класи за допомогою унікальної техніки написання картин цифрами та математичними формулами – числізм (нумеризм).
Приємно усіх здивували семикласники, які захопили п’єдестал переможців шкільного конкурсу «Девайси своїми руками». Гідравлічний екскаватор, порохотяг та рівень – усе це семикласники виготовили самостійно та представили на розгляд експертної комісії у складі викладачів школи.
Восьмі класи використали усі свої знання для пишного святкування Міжнародного Дня Пі — неофіційного свята, присвяченого числу Пі. Учні провели 21 експеримент по визначенню відношення довжини кола до діаметра; виготовили намисто-візуаліазацію числа Пі до 185 знаку після коми; попрактикувалися у техніці числізму. Дев’яті класи підійшли до теми хвильового занурення з практичного боку та з’ясували питання – як змінюється кількість еритроцитів у крові, якщо піднятися на Говерлу. Провели мікробіологічний аналіз повітря у кабінеті директора школи та зробили дослідження мікрофлори шкіри людини методом відбитків.
А ще команди – представники усіх класів пройшли шкільні відбіркові етапи на Кубика Рубіка Fest і кращі представлятимуть нашу школу у своїй віковій категорії на III Міжшкільному Фестивалі логічних ігор Кубика Рубіка Fest!
Ця були не хвилі, а справжній цунамі знань, які будуть супроводжувати нас усе життя! Рухаємося далі.
