What the students discussed with Paralimpian athlete Dmytro Schebetiuk
In Lviv, we had a meeting with Paralympian athlete, master of sports in swimming, co-founder of Dostupno.UA initiative Dmytro Schebetiuk. This young man made the whole school fall in love with him.
In 2011 Dmytro had a spinal injury, as the result of which he lost the ability to walk. But his strong spirit, optimism and the wish to keep going help Dmytro lead a very active way of life. His stories are inspiring! For instance, in summer 2018 he swam across the Bosphorus, hitch-hiked, and he loves archery and motivates people with disabilities and changes this world for the better.
The children asked Dmytro numerous questions, and he answered sincerely and told the stories from his life – how he climbed the trees as a child, how he fell of the wheelchair while going with high speed, about the travels and everything that brings joy and inspires!
Everyone listened with excitement and didn’t even want to make a break. We are grateful for such inspiring meeting!
