TED-format picks up speed

TED-format picks up speed

For one day, CISC_Lviv. School that teaches how to think turned into a filming location for the promo video of TEDxLviv: Human of the Future Conference.
It turns out that a simple question”How do you see your future?” may have numerous versions, fantasies and interesting answers.

And how do 6-12 year olds dream of the future? We suggest that you listen to CISC students:

Люди майбутнього

Дитячі мрії про майбутнє звучать приблизно так: "не корисне стане корисним, а корисне некорисним", або так: "шашлики ми будемо смажити на лаві" і всі люди майбутнього обов'язково працюватимуть програмістами. Словом, готуємося до здійснення мрій дітей, переглядаючи відео-шпаргалку. P.S Дякуємо КМДШ. Львів. Школа, яка вчить думати та дітям за участь у зйомці.

In CISC_Kyiv. School that teaches how to think the internal school TED was held, during which the students of the fourth grade delivered their own philosophical speeches. Within the wave immersion, during the month the children studied the works and theories of different philosophers, discussed and searched the answers to the questions, communicated with interesting guests. And at the defending of the wave, they presented their own presentations and impressed the guests with the following philosophical speeches:

How did our philosophy evolve?
Where was I when my grandma was young?
✓”I think that a successful person is the person who studies throughout the whole life”
“It would be so wonderful if the scientists and politicians all over the world took into account and implemented in their works the norms of dignity and ethics. And we, as the students studying philosophy, can do a lot too – we can study, think and treat others with respect”.

The mission of TED-format is popularization of unique ideas through short, elaborate stories that inspire us and stimulate the obtaining of new knowledge.

CISC_Kyiv team at Teenagers’ Conference “Tomorrow”

A generation that is looking ahead for Tomorrow.

For the new Generation Z dividing things into black and white is not important, they strive for development, the right to have their own opinion and way of life. They are not indifferent to everything happening around, and they are aiming for the changes and taking responsibility for it!

On November 24, CISC teenagers were inspired by the young entrepreneurs 10-16 years of age at the Conference of unique teenagers  Tomorrow in Kyiv /2018/ , and participated in the modern cooperation format “Puzzle”. The teenagers examined real cases of big companies and suggested their solutions. The brainstorm goal for CISC team was working out a concept of platform for blogger kids of age 10-13, allowing them to keep their own YouTube channel, develop it and shoot interesting and useful content in order to engage more subscribers.

Two teams from CISC_Kyiv. School that teaches how to think at first passed into the semi-finals, and then competed in the finals. So we have two award-winning places, and we are proud! 🧡

A lesson from World Wide Fund for Nature in Ukraine

A lesson from World Wide Fund for Nature in Ukraine

A 16-cm bird Amazonian royal flycatcher constructs itself a 2-meter (!) nest;  😮
✅carnivorous plant named Venus’s flytrap feeds on insects and spiders;  🌱
parasitic type of plants, Rafflesia nova, has the largest flowers in the world, which may grow up to 81 cm;
tufted deer that lives only in South China can often be seen near inhabited houses.

Our first-graders had a lesson from World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Ukraine.   🐼

CISC students learned about plants and animals that can be met in different climatic zones – what they feed on, in which forests they may dwell, what colours they have and under which conditions the colouration may change, and what are their peculiarities. We are grateful to Elyzaveta Rykova for the interesting lesson and comprehensive answers to 1000+ 😊 questions asked by our curious CISC students!
